Caterina Schöne - Profile
Born in 1962, I grew up in East Germany, Berlin. As an athlete, I dedicated most of my time to competitive sports then.
After a dual vocational training as a bricklayer, I completed my A-level and took up a course of Arabic and English Studies at the Arfrican/Middle East Department at Leipzig University. I was longing to see the world.
Two years before the Berlin Wall came down, I graduated as an interpreter and translator for English and Arabic and started my professional career at the Foreign Language Service in Berlin. Unfortunately, I still could not travel into the world, but at least, the world came to me. Meeting and working with many people from around the globe, I started to see the world from a different perspective.
After the incredible political changes of 1989, my professional life changed, too: I went freelance to work with many companies and Business Schools. In the early years, language was still the focus, but gradually shifted from translating, to teaching on to consulting. Thus, language has become a means to a very interesting end.
Ever since that time, I have been learning about people, communication, conflict and leadership. And I went into the world to do so: I learned at Harvard University in Boston (teaching negotiation in organizations), at Graz University of Performing Arts and Music (stage acting, and body language with Christoph Posselt), to name just a few.
I am following my ambition to support people in their communication, be it in business or private, in leadership or negotiation, be it in Germany, Europe or other places in the world.
Since 2008, I have intensified the leadership topic together with Christoph Posselt. We devise programs that focus on the support of leaders on different levels to develop their skills in areas such as negotiation, conflict resolution, decision making as well as personality and presentation.
